DESSERT BREAD

This easy dish makes an excellent dessert anytime!!Try for yourself and decide:)Thanks to srilakshmi for sharing this recipe!
Ingredients:
  • Bread - 6-8 pieces
  • Refined Oil-ghee mixed
  • Sugar -2 cups
  • water
  • Almond powder
  • cherries(optional)
How to make:
  • Prepare sugar syrup by adding 2 cups of sugar to 1.5 cups of water.Boil well to get a thick consistency(until all the sugar dissolves)(make sure you keep it in a low flame) and keep the hot sugar syrup aside.
  • Take a piece of bread and cut the edges of the bread in to square or round shape.
  • Take a pan covering with about 1.5 inch of oil and heat . Keep the flame on medium. In the hot oil+ghee mixture fry the bread pieces (few at a time). Fry the bread pieces till its golden brown on both sides. You would need to turn over one time in between to fry the other side. Once done, take out the fried bread pieces and put it on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
  • Once the bread crumbs are fried,immediately dip in warm sugar syrup prepared before and instantly take them out and put each piece separately on another plate.(Note: If you dip the bread pieces longer in the warm syrup, the bread pieces will get soggy and lose the crunch).Allow them to come to room temperature.
  • Sprinkle almond powder on the sugar dipped bread pieces and Enjoy!!
  • Decorate it with cherries (optional).
Preparation Time:15- 20 minutes
